20 Weeks- 50% Baked!

20 Weeks: Baby O is the size of a banana.
*For the first 20 weeks the baby was being measured head to rump, now my baby app is measuring the baby from little head to tiny toe!

How far along? 20 Weeks- halfway there!!!!!!  This pregnancy really does seem like it's flying by to us!
Total weight gain? Up 5 pounds
Maternity clothes? I'm ready to consider looking at maternity pants.  Everyone keeps telling me at work how comfy they are so that is on my list of shopping items for the next week or two.  Until then... bring on the belly bands!
Stretch marks? Nope- lathering on my cocoa butter
Sleep? Like a rock!
Best moment this week? So many to pick from!  The definite top is the baby starting to move a TON.  Trent even got to feel his first kicks this weekend while we were back in Great Bend. He is so excited that he can feel Baby O now too... somebody was starting to get jealous last week when I'd tell him the baby was moving ;)  Other best moments were being back in GB for family time/pictures, completely clearing out the office/scrapbook room to start the nursery, and the crib arriving and setting that up last night!
Miss anything? Nothing this week.
Movement? Little flips and flops at all times of the day now- especially at night- we have a little night owl!
Food cravings? I am DYING for some extra marshmallowy Rice Krispie treats.  I need to a. buy the stuff at the store and then b. learn how to make these.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Nothing- nausea seems like a whole lifetime ago... knock on wood...
Gender? Next Wednesday when all the family gets into town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Labor Signs? No- I'd hope not!
Symptoms? Killer heartburn and my first several cases of "baby brain." Not enjoying that AT ALL haha.
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? HAPPY!!!
Looking forward to? Trent and my mom painting Baby O's room this week- bought the paint yesterday!
Daddy moment?  Trenton is enjoying that he can finally feel Baby O too and the handyman did a super job at putting the crib together... hope he's ready for paint!

Jeryn wanted to feel the baby kicking like Tio did.  She told everyone that "Kendra" was kicking her too haha.

This year's color theme for the family pics was black and white with a pop of pink.  Not a bad looking group I must say :)

Crazy to think that next year I'll be getting to plan and coordinate an outfit for our little man or little lady!  Pretty sure their outfit will be way more important than ours from now on :)

If he takes a picture like this then he has to know it's gonna end up on the blog...

The office last week before we started Project Nursery.

The scrapbook side of the room pre-move to the guest bedroom. Still need to take pictures of what the guest bedroom looks like right now... yikes...

 Putting Baby O's crib together!

The lonely empty room.  Still LOTS of projects coming up... starting with paint this week :)

Sonogram Video

Don't feel like you have to watch this... it's 21 minutes long... but I know we have some grandparents ready to see this :)  Here's Baby Olivier!

Halfway Sonogram!

We woke up bright and early today to see Baby O's cute little self.  There are only a few things I'll wake up before 6 a.m. for and not be grouchy.. getting to see our baby is definitely one of them! As you know from the other blog posts... no gender reveal here today.  Got to wait two more weeks with us until the Thanksgiving reveal :)

Hi Baby O! Baby's first head shot- the sonographer told us there's no way to avoid the alien baby look at this point haha.  Lack of soft tissue or something like that. She pointed out that you can actually see the baby's eye lens and everything.  Technology is crazy.

Baby O had his/her legs crossed so she had a tough time getting a picture of the feet.  What was funny is I did too while laying there on the table... loved that!  Now we'll see if baby will come out with Trent's size 14s or my normal sized foot ;)  Can't wait to go baby shoe shopping!!!

Underneath the label of "baby foot" you can see the bottom of one of the feet with the cute little toes.

Arm and fingers all looked good.

 Another face and body shot.

Baby says peace out.  So funny he/she can already throw up some deuces!  Love this little crazy person inside of me!

Luckily, Trent right away told her not to show us what the baby's gender is.  And she laughed and said she already saw it and showed it on the screen. We both have different opinions on what we "think" we might've seen/not seen.  When she was in the butt region I said a girl and Trent said boy cause he thought he saw a little wiener (haha... how else should I put that?!?) so we're both still torn. As long as it's healthy... we'll take whoever God has chosen for us. The sonographer said everything looked good- body, face, brain, heart, spine, etc.  We also have a mover on our hands which should get interesting in the next 21 weeks.  She was chasing Lil' O all over the place in there.

All done and headed out for a celebratory breakfast- biscuits and gravy :)

Later tonight I'll be posting the 21 minute sonogram video... it's taking forever to upload.  We're not expecting anyone to watch it... it's for the grandparents :)

19 Weeks

19 Weeks: Baby O is the size of a large heirloom tomato
How far along? 19 Weeks
Total weight gain? Up 5 pounds
Maternity clothes? Nope but I have officially started busting out of my pants.  I'm down to only 3 jeans that are still willing to button without cutting off my circulation.  I have now started using the rubberband trick and the Belly Bands most days at work.
Stretch marks? Nope- lathering on my cocoa butter
Sleep? Sleeping like a baby minus my nightly bathroom visit.
Best moment this week? 1. Halloween!  I cannot wait till next year when we have a little one to dress up and parade around. 2. Ordering our chair and crib for the nursery!!!  The chair won't be in until December but the crib should arrive in 5-10 days!
Miss anything? Nothing this week.
Movement? Still a little here and there.  They no longer feel like flutters this week, more like slight pushes or nudges.  But still nothing major and I only feel it when I'm sitting still or laying down.
Food cravings? Nothing really this week.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Nothing!!
Gender? We get to seal it in the envelope tomorrow morning!  Can't wait to see our little one even if I won't know if I'm looking at a he/she until Thanksgiving.
Labor Signs? No- I'd hope not!
Symptoms? Lots of back pain still and nightly heartburn. Oh the heartburn...
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? HAPPY!!!
Looking forward to? Seeing Baby O on the sonogram tomorrow morning!!!!!!!  We haven't seen him/her since he/she was a tiny blueberry on the screen glowing like a lightning bug.  Now it will look like a real baby!  Our kid better be ready to show the goods off to the sonographer too.
Daddy moment? Almost every time I tell Trent the baby kicks he quickly puts his hand on my tummy to try and feel.  Still nothing that he can feel yet though- the nudges are so little it might be awhile before he can feel them.

For the third year in a row we went over to the Gorneys for our annual carving night.  Ashley has the majority of the pictures from that night of everyone's final products.  She should probably blog those sometime soon... her blog is slacking!  I did get pics of the glitter pumpkins that I made with J-Fe.  Jeryn and I both agree... everything is better with a little glitter :) Jeryn made the J, the heart, and the little green polka dot.  I made the H, B, and O for Harlee, Bentley, and Baby O.

My pumpkin this year thanks to Ashley's pinterest find- the crybaby.

 Trent's masterpiece.

 The porch decor.

The last year just the two of them... our furbabies in their costumes.  Harlee the witch and Bentley the fierce dragon.  Next year there will be 2 furbabies and a real baby to dress up and sit on the porch- can't wait!!!
Halloween tummy pic with one of my best friends, Jess.  Love that we are only a week apart and get to share in all this joy and excitement together!  They found out today that they are adding another little lady to their family... SO excited for them!  Now to find out if we're giving baby girl Carlson a future gal pal or a boyfriend :)

The rocker/glider/recliner we ordered for the nursery.  Only we chose a gray color called "gravel." It is soooo comfy I can already tell we'll be taking plenty of naps in that chair together.  I also told Trent that the new chair will be named Christian Grey (from 50 Shades of Grey for those who haven't read the books).  Trenton hasn't been too thrilled with all the one liners I'm getting off of this chair.  "I can't wait to sleep on Christian", "Trent will you be sitting on Christian?", "Christian is the total package", etc. Once Christian comes in you're welcome to come  try him out if you'd like ;)

18 Weeks

18 Weeks- Baby O is the size of a bell pepper. *Today was hat day and I kept it on... even though it won't match my other pictures and this bothers OCD Kala... I'm fine with it since you don't want to see the hat head I was sportin'.

How far along? 18 Weeks
Total weight gain? Up 4 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still not yet
Stretch marks? Nope- lathering on my cocoa butter
Sleep? Sooo good.  I even went to bed at 7:30 one night last week.  Felt amazing :)
Best moment this week? Toss up between hearing Baby O again at our appointment and having my first dream and actually "seeing"/talking/holding our little one.  I dreamed it was a little boy and he looked just like Trenton.  OMG he was the cutest thing.  He was Trenton's mini me and was laying on my chest just staring back at me while I was talking to him.  I woke up SO happy :)  But now I'm really torn because I was leaning toward a girl prediction.  We'll know for sure in a month I guess!
Miss anything? Going to a Halloween party and not being able to play all the games like normal just didn't feel right.  Everyone was nice and let me play all the games still... but I just did my drinks with Cherry Coke. Not the same...
Movement? A few here and there... nothing too consistent or major yet.
Food cravings? Nothing really this week.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Nothing!!
Gender? So there's been a slight change... our sonogram appointment got moved up to Nov 6!!!  But... we are still planning on waiting until Thanksgiving to find out the gender with both of our families.  Guarantee that this will be the longest two week wait EVER.  Trent has even decided to take the sealed envelope to Ashley and Jerad's because he knows I'll give in and peek.  We all know I have absolutely no self control- pretty much with everything in life.
Labor Signs? No- I'd hope not!
Symptoms? I told my doctor about my back pain and inflammation.  After she gave me a kidney punch, literally- ouch!, she decided she wants to watch my kidneys for kidney stones.  If it doesn't get better in the next month then we might have to do a sonogram of my kidneys.  But I have no other symptoms so I'm guessing (and hoping and praying!!) that it's a false alarm on the kidney stones.  My stomach is also really sore from all that growing and stretching.  Feels like I had a major ab workout but that's definitely not the case!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? Happy all week minus one day where I was kinda cranky.  No pregnancy meltdown though- just kinda mopey and wanted to be by myself.  Not like me since I'm a people person and hate being alone.
Looking forward to? Halloween trick or treaters and getting my hair done.  My colorist is going to flip when she hears the news! She's the BEST.
Daddy moment? Trent got the patio cover finished and can't wait to start baby projects now :)

This year's Halloween costumes- "The Bun Maker" and the "Bun in the Oven"... although at the Halloween party I kept getting called oven maker haha.  Thanks to Paul and Britney for shipping us these costumes of theirs!

Like I mentioned above... the patio project phase 2 is done!  Phase 1 happened earlier this summer when we poured a patio concrete and sidewalk-to-driveway addition.

The before picture clear back in April.

And after!! Not the same angle but you get the picture. Phase 3 includes staining, building a ceiling, installing electrical for lights/fans, adding the decoration touches, building a pallet table, buying furniture, installing a porch swing on the right side, etc.  All but staining will probably be put on hold until next spring though.

Side view as you walk in from the side gate/sidewalk.

Another one up close.  Baby Daddy did good :)

17 Weeks

17 Weeks- Baby O is the size of a turnip.

How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain? Up 4 pounds
Maternity clothes? Not yet- although I did go buy some cute fall dresses for work and bought them  in a size medium for the upcoming months!  I'm trying to wait out this maternity clothes thing as long as I can- until I have to give in I'm just gonna go a size up (or more if needed).
Stretch marks? Nope- lathering on my cocoa butter
Sleep? Once I fall asleep it's awesome but I've been having some back pain so it's hard to get comfy at first.
Best moment this week? Keep reading for the major news.... and also rearranging/organizing the closets for Lil' O!
Miss anything? My old skin- I'm fighting breakouts like a 13 year old.  I never had complexion problems during puberty and now I have a whole new appreciation on what some middle schoolers have to endure.  If anyone has a miracle facewash let me know cause the ones I've tried just aren't cutting it.
Movement? Felt the first flutters just last night!!!!!!!!!!  I had literally just whined to Trent an hour before about how I've been paying such close attention and hadn't felt anything yet.  Right after I laid down for bed I felt little butterflies dancing in my belly.  Pretty freaking awesome!
Food cravings? Nothing new- other than my Sunny D and sweet tea
Anything making you queasy/sick? Nothing for 3 weeks now :)
Gender? A month away- hurry up.
Labor Signs? No- I'd hope not!
Symptoms? Some back pain, daily headaches, and heartburn- but nothing I'll complain about compared to that nasty first trimester nausea!
Belly button in or out? In- and it actually looks like a hole now!  As weird as that sounds... I have a really strange belly button.  It was more like a semi closed swirl rather than a hole (like that makes any sense) but not now!  Now I can see how people get fuzz in their belly button or why kids stick things in their belly button.  I didn't realize what I'd been missing out on haha ;)
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? Super excited... minus being mopey this morning.  I did NOT want to go to work.  Not sure if it was a case of the Mondays, coming off a 3 day weekend, being a dreary morning, or just pregnancy hormones.  I was much better once I got to see my kiddos though!
Looking forward to? Our doctor appointment tomorrow evening- can't wait to hear that heartbeat again!
Daddy moment? Trent falling asleep with his hand on my tummy... awwww :)

My big project this weekend was rearranging our closet situation.  The pic on the left was the scrapbook room/office closet before... and on the right is after.  The baby stuff has started moving in and everything!

This was the guest bedroom closet before and then after once all the scrapbook stuff moved in too.

My favorite thing in Baby O's closet right now is the blanket I crocheted him/her the first week after we found out we were pregnant.  I needed something to distract me from the "morning" sickness at night on the couch.

Trent's work had their annual family day this weekend and this year they held it at the new aquarium at Crown Center.  We hadn't gone yet so were excited we'd be going for free.  We love aquariums and this one didn't disappoint- we just wish it was bigger!

First time we were at Family Day with our bump along for the fun :)

Seeing all the Nemos made me wish Jeryn was there with us too!

Close up of the bump to prove that it's definitely hanging out now!

Patio cover update- Trent's been working like a mad man to finish it.  He took a half day today and finished the roof and the membrane? thing you put down before shingles.  Not too much further to go!

16 Weeks

Baby O is the size of an avocado!

How far along? 16 Weeks
Total weight gain? Up 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? Not yet
Stretch marks? Nope- lathering on my cocoa butter
Sleep? Wonderful- out like a light every night.
Best moment this week? Having the family in town this past weekend.
Miss anything? Nope
Movement? Nothing yet
Food cravings? I might've moved on from the Sunny D to sweet tea.  We're buying it by the gallons cause I was tired of heading to McD's everyday.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Nada!  I have been morning sickness free for two weeks now- adios Zofran!
Gender? Only 35 more days... feels like forever away...
Labor Signs? Nope
Symptoms? Other than my nightly 4:30 wakeup call for a bathroom break, I totally feel like my usual self!
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? Pure happiness :)
Looking forward to? A 3 day weekend this week!!!  I'll need it after two days of 8 am-8pm with parent teacher conferences.
Daddy moment? Seeing Trent's shocked face when he realized we would have to take infant classes/birthing classes/nursing classes, etc.  I reminded him of this while watching Modern Family and it was pretty funny to watch this sink in ;)

People have been asking me how our first babies are handling the baby news... they are slowly getting used to the idea when we talk to them about it lol.  Bentley is the one that's going to have the hardest time adjusting.  Someone has been a mama's boy the last 5 years...

Harlee just looks sad when we tell her the news.  But we know she'll be the best big fur-sister!  And don't worry... both the babies are getting haircuts this weekend cause as you can see... they desperately need it!

Bob, Lora, and GGG came into town to celebrate Bob's birthday this weekend.  Jeryn assisted by picking out a purple monster cake!

Trent planned out a birthday surprise (clear back in July) to take Bob and the family on a tour of the Boulevard Brewery.  Ashley couldn't come because of a volleyball tourney though :(  Luckily, Bob was definitely surprised and loved the tour of the brewery!

20 free beers for four adults and one pregnant chick.  This was just mean haha.  I made the best of it and smelled them all since I couldn't taste ;)

Cheers for Bob's birthday!

Like father, like son...

I had to share pics of Trent's latest project (he's always got something) for the house.  This was the back of the house/patio two Sundays ago before Trent and my dad started cutting into our house.

This is the back of the house after another weekend of help from Trent and Bob.  So excited to see all of the progress being made!
