September Appointment- Heartbeat!!!

We got to have a sonogram (which I posted in an older post) at 6 weeks 4 days and got to "meet" our baby... but this was the first appointment where we got to hear Lil' O.  The only word I can use to describe it is "magical" and that's not a word I use very often... if ever.  But, if I'm being honest... I was scared for this appointment because you always hear those horror stories about them not detecting the heart beat at this appointment.  I have prayed every night and every morning that this little person is growing strong and healthy and we would hear its heartbeat.  Thankfully, God heard my prayers and Dr. Rita found his/her heartbeat immediately.  Although, you can't hear it right away on the video... we heard it instantly in person.  AMAZING!

In the video above you hear Dr. Rita say the baby was doing flips.  Then I mentioned the baby wasn't like me- who had been sleeping.  My super nice husband caught this moment on tape and made sure to force  have me upload it too.  Don't judge... it has been a really long week and I'm still recovering from our late nights this past weekend ;)

13 Weeks

Baby O is the size of a shrimp

How far along? 13 Weeks- last week of 1st trimester, woop woop!!!!!

 Total weight gain? I'm back up to my pre-baby weight!
Maternity clothes? Nope- but you can see my baby belly in the pic.  It comes out way more at night.

Stretch marks? Nope. Please don't let this happen...
Sleep? Amazing!  Especially since I was out till 4 a.m. both Friday and Saturday.  Trent's 10 year reunion in GB will do that to you.  I figured I owe him some nights since he's usually doing it for me :) I'm still recovering....
Best moment this week? We get to hear Lil' O's heartbeat tomorrow!!!!!!!!! Video camera is charged and ready.
Miss anything? This past weekend I definitely missed having a drink with our friends.  Chugging water and Sprite just wasn't the same lol, but it's a sacrifice I don't mind making for awhile!
Movement? Nope
Food cravings? I saw the Braum's sign for a Pecan Caramel Fudge Sundae and just had to have it... man was it GOOD.  Anyone that has a Braum's go get one- don't walk there, RUN to get one.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Still chicken I'm guessing... the thought of it doesn't make me want to puke though... maybe we're making baby steps?
Gender? Come on November
Labor Signs? Nope
Symptoms? Just super super super tired...
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? Happy all the way... even with lack of sleep
Looking forward to? Our September doctor appointment tomorrow!
Daddy moment? My baby daddy did such a good job planning his class reunion.  I know it was stressful on him and he's relieved he can now focus on all our other fun stuff :)

12 Weeks

Maternity clothes? Nope but I'm totally showing.  Although it's looking more like a I've-ate-one-too-many-cheeseburgers-belly rather than a baby belly.
Stretch marks? Nope. Please don't let this happen...
Sleep? Wonderful thank goodness
Best moment this week? Telling the whole world!!!  All our friends know, co-workers know, even facebook knows lol.
Miss anything? My energy.
Movement? Nope
Food cravings? Nothing new
Anything making you queasy/sick? Just that disgusting "C word."
Gender? Won't know until November
Labor Signs? Nope
Symptoms? The usual nausea and tiredness

Happy or moody? HAPPY!!! I haven't had a pregnancy hormone breakdown... yet...
Looking forward to? Trent's 10 year class reunion this coming weekend
Daddy moment? Trent was so giddy to tell everyone too.  He helped make the blue/pink cupcakes for work since we all know how I am in the kitchen.

Telling Our Group

Not being able to tell our group of friends was the hardest part of the waiting period once we got our baby news.  Our friends are our second family and keeping this secret from them was sooo painful!  We invited everyone over for a "fall kickoff BBQ" at our house last Friday... but it was really to spill our secret.  It was kinda last minute so not everyone was able to make it.  But for those who were able to make it, it was such a special night for us- thanks to the Bergs, Carlsons, Hermons, Madrid/Burkes for being a part of our secret video.  And thank you also to the McNeers, Scoggins', and DaSilvas for coming over later to celebrate!

Things to note:

-The Bergs already knew our secret so Jobeth and Kyle aren't acting surprised for a reason.  They've known all along :)

-Somebody drops an f-bomb not realizing that we're on video... sorry about that ;)

-Babies cry out of fear, dogs bark in confusion, and girls scream in excitement.  Turn down your volume cause this video gets loud.

-Kenny stays in one spot the entire time cause he's so well trained on how often we do group pictures around here haha.  Even after the video stopped he asked when we were taking the picture.  You're the best, Kenneth!

-Yes, me and Jess are exactly one week apart- listen for her scream and then crying.  It couldn't be more exciting!

-Sorry you can only hear, not see, most of the action with us girls.  I was behind the camera this time.

Without further ado...

Telling Trent's family

My family (and best friend, Jobeth) got to find out the baby news right away since they live in town.  But since Trent's parents live in Great Bend we had to wait until they came to visit so we could tell them, Grandma Geneva, and Ashley and Jerad.  Keeping this secret from them for an entire MONTH was awful!!  I know that it literally killed Trent everyday to talk to his family and not be able to say something.  But that's just not something you want to say over the phone :)

We knew since this summer how we wanted to tell groups of people.  For anybody that knows me, they know how I am with group photos for my scrapbooking.  Granted, this was just a random Labor Day weekend Saturday...but we made them do a group photo anyway... "for the scrapbook."  Although someone **cough, cough, Ashley** was very suspicious why we were doing a group photo randomly.  Back this summer we found videos on youtube where people pretend to set up a "group shot" but really spill the baby news when they count down for the picture.  Once we saw those videos... we knew that's how we'd be telling family and friends.

Things to note about the video:
-sorry I smile/sound like an idiot.  I'm not good with surprises.
-Lora not saying anything for 15 seconds.
-Jeryn slipping down Lora cause she's so shocked.
-Jerad's reaction- especially hand on hip action
-Somebody starting to cry when she walks off camera- tears of happiness!

Telling Jeryn was awesome because she's at the perfect age to get excited about a new baby cousin!  Even if she did lift up my shirt to see the baby and then tell me she wanted to see the baby NOW.  She's gonna have to wait awhile for that one...

Week 11

How far along? 11 Weeks
Total weight gain? Still down 1-2 pounds depending on the day.
Maternity clothes? Nope
Stretch marks? Nope. Please don't let this happen...
Sleep? Good- busted out Trent's old body pillow and that has helped alot.  I'm just used to being either a back sleeper or a tummy sleeper so I'm trying to train myself to be a side sleeper with this pillow.  Poor Trenton doesn't have much room though with me, my body pillow, and the dogs.
Best moment this week? Starting to feel better thanks to Zofran :) And talking with Jeryn about "her baby." The Gorneys gave us a gift and the card included gender predictions.  Ashley wrote Jeryn's exact quote, "My baby in Tia's tummy is going to be a girl." I love that she is excited about it!!
Miss anything? My energy.
Movement? Nope
Food cravings? I wanted a dipped cone from McD's this week after seeing a sign for them.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Just that disgusting "C word."
Gender? Won't know for another 2ish months.

Daddy moment? Trent is already super protective- I was telling him a story about some rumors of mistreatment of pregnant women at work and MAN did Trent get fired up.  He even threatened he'd use a lawyer.  WOAH crazy... settle down. 

Week 10

 Baby O is the size of a kumquat- google it- I had to.

How far along? 10 Weeks- we're 1/4 of the way.  The first thing I said to Trent this morning was, "We're 25% of the way there!!"
Total weight gain? Down 1 pound from pre-baby weight
Maternity clothes? Nope.  Been loving my dresses and leggings at work for sure!
Stretch marks? Nope. Please don't let this happen...
Sleep? It's a freaking 3 day weekend and on Saturday I woke up at 5:20 and couldn't go back to sleep.  So I spent my super early morning watching Dirty Dancing.
Best moment this week? Telling Trent's family on Saturday when they got into town. Video of that coming soon. And also getting Zofran from my doctor- and it helped!!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!!
Miss anything? My energy.
Movement? Nope
Food cravings? Gotta have my Sunny D and lots and lots of cold water. I'm drinking like I'm a fish.
Anything making you queasy/sick? Just that disgusting "C word." Trent baked some on Wednesday night and I thought I was gonna have to open all our windows to get rid of the disgusting smell before I threw up.  It was real bad...
Gender? Won't know for another 2ish months.
Labor Signs? Nope
Symptoms? Nausea not as bad with my new best friend, Zofran. Still super tired.  9:30 pm feels like it's midnight.

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody? HAPPY!!! Was moody on the day Trent made chicken though ;)
Looking forward to? Only two more weeks before we can tell our friends now!
Daddy moment? Loved seeing how excited he was to tell his family and how excited/shocked/surprised they were.  And man is Jeryn excited too.  Although she cried to Ashley because she wants the baby in her tummy haha.  Not quite how that one works girlie :)
